How 2011 Rocked My Biz Even Though I Didn't
+ Last 19 hrs. for Discounts on The Stuff that Made it Happen
In 2011, I had my best year ever. Business is booming. What makes this worth sharing is that I actually didn't work much at all, this year or last.
A lot of people dream of being able to stop working so they can take a permanent vacation.
I wasn't working because I couldn't — chronic health issues flared up in a big way that forced me to stop almost everything. It was a scary time for me, and I had to submit fully to my healing journey.
Grief also pulled my energies under. My best friend died suddenly in her sleep. A few months later, my beloved Gramps passed away, the only father figure in my life.
I write about my personal process in my Digital Apprenticeship series, if you want in-depth exploration on how I really do use art to heal, and more...
I'm not independently wealthy, nor do I have any family supporting me. I'm a single, self-employed artist with a hefty mortgage. My business supported me even when I couldn't give it much in return.
That's the nature of investing. My business wouldn't have been sustainable if I hadn't invested in it. This means spending money on new technology, and most importantly, trainings, information and workshops that help my business thrive. This enabled me to spend time and money on getting healthy.
Every successful creative entrepreneur I know spends a good deal of time and money investing in their business. The ones who are thriving the most spend time and money on extreme self-care. Believe me, I'm studying with them now! :)
Health is Wealth is my big, humbling take away from 2010/2011. Over the next few weeks, I'll be building out a new Resources section on The Creative Entrepreneur website to share the tools I use and the people I work with to make my business (and health) thrive.
And now that I'm feeling better, I'm finally going to be able to work more on some of the programs so many of you have been wanting and waiting patiently for (hint: Creative Entrepreneur facilitator trainings!)
Meanwhile, if you wish your business were supporting you to do as you please, here are two things to do today:
1. Check out this ridiculous offer (90% off!) a bundled package of trainings from the smartest people I know. Expires in 19 hours or so as of this mailing. I'll be sharing their work individually on the Resources page, if you miss this, and worth every penny at full price. Be frugal and get it now. (This is a rewards link that provides a revenue stream for my biz. I only recommend stuff I use.)
2. (For the Ladies Only) Learn more about The Creative Entrepreneur Retreat for Women, which happens in a tropical paradise in January, 2012. If you register by tomorrow, Dec. 1, you can save $300. I can't think of a better way to launch you best year yet. It's an exclusive opportunity to study with me personally, with a small group of 12 extremely committed women who are doing life-changing and world-changing stuff.
You can see some of them in the movie filmed at our retreat on location last year. :)
Come see what me and other local artists are up to, have a drink, and meet some like-minded people in the neighborhood.
The image is of some work-in-progress that I'll be showing this Saturday at 2 Flo Artspace, 3-6 pm. If your images are turned off, take a peek. Gratitude and appreciation overflows.
